"Planning HIL's Revival To Popularise Hockey": Hockey India President
When asked what challenges are faced by hockey in India, Dilip Tirkey, President of Hockey India said, "though the craze for hockey has seen a decline over the past many decades, hockey in India has seen many changes. People have started talking about hockey again and it is increasing in popularity. We are planning the revival of Hockey India League (HIL) for the popularisation of hockey and for the exposure of the youth in hockey. We want a grassroots level increase in competition in the sub-junior and junior categories."
