Mumbai's glitterati may not see action at the Mahalaxmi Race Course this winter. Racing has been postponed indefinitely as over a thousand thoroughbreds have been severely hit by the equine flu. The flu has left them weak unable to run in the races initially scheduled to start on November 15. They are now being treated at stud farms in Pune. Horse owners are livid with the Royal Western Indian Turf Club (RWITC) for downplaying the epidemic.
