Education and sensitisation are the most sustainable and long-lasting answers to the menace of online violence and cyber-abuse. An absence of any digital learning or availability of any self-guided tools for students forces them into looking at problematic media representations online for guidance. There is a need for adding digital safety education as a course in school and college curriculums to ensure compulsory guidance on safe internet practices. Part of the solution is to "train the trainers", i.e. support teachers and provide them with the skills needed to deliver a digital skills-related curriculum.
