Six earthquakes - the biggest of 7.7 magnitude - hit central Myanmar at 12.50pm (local time) Friday, with tremors and aftershocks striking parts of Thailand, China, India, Vietnam, and Bangladesh. The epicentres were northwest of the city of Sagaing at depths of 10 to 30km, the United States Geological Survey said. 20 deaths - from a hospital in capital Naypyidaw that may become a "mass casualty area" - have been confirmed so far. There are also reports of deaths from a mosque in Mandalay that collapsed while people were praying, and a city university, in which a fire broke out.
