"I Paid Heavy Price For #MeToo Allegations": Singer Chinmayi Sripaada To NDTV

Celebrated singer Chinmayi, who became a key face of the #MeToo movement in India, hopes more women survivors of sexual violence would now speak up following the Hema Committee Report in Kerala that exposes the dark underbelly of the film industry there. Citing the difficulties survivors fighting for justice face with loss of livelihood and  challenges in proving sexual offences, Chinmayi tells NDTV's Sam Daniel of the need for a swift and sensitive justice sytem. Chinmayi, who had levelled sexual assault allegations against Lyricist Vairamuthu and actor Radha Ravi, says she has been banned from dubbing and her singing career too has been badly hit. Denying allegations, Vairamuthu had then said he would face the case legally if a formal complaint was made.
