Former Karnataka Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar joined Congress today in the presence of party president Mallikarjun Kharge and state Congress chief DK Shivakumar. Commenting on his decision to leave the BJP, Mr Shettar said, "I suffered humiliation, self-respect was damaged and so many things happened and because of that I chose my self-respect, the respect of Karnataka's people and left the party."
