In today's episode of India Global, There has been a rather dramatic and peculiar twist in India's humanitarian mission to quake-struck Myanmar. An Indian Air Force C-130J Hercules, carrying critical relief supplies, reportedly faced a chilling threat in the skies, many are claiming it to be GPS spoofing. On March 29th, the aircraft encountered navigational anomalies over southern Myanmar, near Yangon and the Irrawaddy Delta. The crew acted fast-switching to backup systems and avoiding disaster. According to GPSJam.org, the skies were thick with interference-red zones of spoofing activity lighting up the map. Experts opine that the pattern suggests deliberate, targeted jamming, possibly from nearby Coco Islands-long rumored to host covert intelligence installations. The Indian Air Force confirmed the anomaly, raising a pressing question: Who is targeting peace missions with weapons of electronic war? NDTV's Gaurie Dwivedi speaks with Wing Commander Abhishek Matiman (Retd) and South east Asia Expert Bidhayak Das to discuss this and more.
