A senior Kerala IAS officer deposed before Customs officials Tuesday in connection with investigations into the smuggling of 30 kg of gold through diplomatic channels in the UAE consulate in Thiruvananthapuram. It had been alleged by the opposition that the officer, M Sivasankar, has links to the accused in the gold smuggling case.
