AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi campaigned in Okhla for his party's candidate, Shifa Ur-Rehman, who is accused in the Delhi riots case. Speaking to NDTV's Ahtasham Khan, Owaisi questioned why a riots-accused cannot contest elections when Arvind Kejriwal, who was jailed in a corruption case, is allowed to run. He accused Kejriwal of neglecting Muslims and Okhla, asserting that AIMIM is receiving massive support and will create history in the constituency. Owaisi emphasized that the law permits Shifa-Ur-Rehman to contest, dismissing concerns over a split in Muslim votes.
