On The Buck Stops Here, General Officer Commanding of the Srinagar-based 15 Corps Lt Gen Satish Dua speaks on the new phase of insurgency in the Valley. He says there is a "contradiction" when people say youth are picking up guns. "For every such story (of local youth becoming militant) you have to tell, how do you also explain when there is recruitment rally for Army, for 55 vacancies 45,000 young men show up," he asked. He also spoke of the new "challenge" for armed forces where women charge at soldiers in the middle of an operation and people pelt stones trying to break the cordon around encounter sites.
