An IIT Madras alumnus has donated Rs 228 crore to the institute, seen as the largest-ever donation for education in India. The donor, Dr Krishna Chivukula had pursued his M Tech in Aeronautical Engineering at IIT Madras in 1970 and moved to the United States of America. NDTV's Sam Daniel spoke to the donor, Prof V Kamakoti, the Director and the Dean, Prof Mahesh Panchagnula on the motivation, utilisation of this endowment and lessons from the American success.
