A prototype of a hyperloop pod, a futuristic high speed long distance public transport developed by students from the IIT Madras has secured funding from L&T Technology Services. The design aims at a speed of 1200 KM an hour. The institute is also setting up a 500 metre long student developed testing centre to turn this into a global hyperloop testing facility. A few years ago this model was chosen for a global competition organised by Elon Musk's SpaceX. NDTV's Sam Daniel spoke to Team Avishkar, the young minds behind this mission.
