Little over two months after the Balakot airstrike, which was in the western sector, the Indian Air Force is conducting a comprehensive wartime exercise in the eastern sector of the country. The aim is to make the air force's wartime preparedness more efficient and robust. In a first-of-its-kind exercise on India's eastern front, the Indian Air Force has already begun the drill to operate fighter aircraft from civilian airports in the east and far-east. For this, IAF has identified civilian airports in Kolkata, Guwahati, Aizawl and Durgapur.
