In Bengaluru North, A Vokkaliga Heartland, It's Union Minister vs Academician
In heartland of the Vokkaligas, Bengaluru North Lok Sabha constituency is up for a heated battle. Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje, who is seen as the BJP's female face in the state, is pitted against a professor known for steering public policy, the Congress's Rajeev Gowda, in what's expected to be an interesting contest. Ms Karandlaje's nomination also created some heartburn in the local BJP unit. Pratiba Raman reports from Bengaluru North.
