In BJP's North-East Meet, Allies Ask Tough Questions On Contentious Issues
Home minister Amit Shah was on a two-day visit to Assam. It was his first visit to the north-east state after the citizens' list was published on August 31. The National Register of Citizens (NRC) does not have the names of close to two million people. Mr Shah met his regional allies in the north-east aimed at charting out the next political agenda after making the region "Congress-mukt". But he has had to face some tough questions and concerns from his allies on fears of the NRC spillover, return of Citizenship Bill and changes in Article 371.
