Speaking to NDTV's Marya Shakil, top defence experts spoke about the strategic necessity of Atmanirbharta in the defence sector. The experts spoke about the Indian government's efforts to boost India's defence sector which includes engaging startup companies to fast-track development of technology in the defence sector as well as increasing funding for research and development efforts. However, the experts emphasised that there was still a lot of work left to be done on the ground level, including improving new-age weapons and developing a plan to improve India's defence systems.
