Under a strict curfew for the last 10 days, most of the streets of Kashmir bear a deserted look. While clashes between rock-throwing crowds and security guards firing bullets, pellets and tear-gas shells have claimed 42 lives and injured over 2,100, the unrest has taken a toll on others too. Thousands of homes in Kashmir are reeling from a shortage of essential supplies and access to medical facilities.
