By-elections are being held today in two parliamentary seats in Rajasthan and an assembly seat in the state in what is seen as a test of the electoral preparedness of the Vasundhra Raje-led BJP government ahead of the state assembly elections later this year. Today's polling will see 38 lakh voters would deciding the fate of 41 candidates. The by-polls are taking place four days after the release of the film Padmaavat. The Rajputs, nearly two lakh voters in Ajmer, have decided to vote against the ruling BJP after they were upset over the film's release.
