The capital city is reeling under waterlogging as incessant rainfall battered the Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala from May 18. Houses were inundated in low-lying areas of the district. Many parts of the district are facing a flood-like situation as canals started to overflow. The India Meteorological Department has sounded an orange alert in the district for the next two days as rainfall ranging from 6m to 20m is expected in 24 hours.
