India-born scientist, Nobel Laureate Dr Venkatraman Ramakrishnan, will take over as the President of the prestigious Royal Society at the end of the year. Founded in 1660, it is possibly the oldest science society in the world. Dr Ramakrishnan, or 'Venki' as he's popularly known, one of NDTV's 25 Greatest Global Living Indians, will follow in the line of illustrious past Presidents of the Royal Society like Sir Isaac Newton, and evolutionary biologist Thomas Huxley.
