In the midst of contemporary and cosmopolitan 21st century India, is it right to prioritise the hierarchy of social indicators such as class, gender, caste, race? Should ethnic signifiers be considered an integral element of evaluation while considering matters of employment? Or should diversity be viewed as a mutually beneficial asset to the socio-economic and political atmosphere? What should India do to break the barriers of class, gender, race and caste? Is legislation the way out for ensuring 'equal opportunity' or should the change to accept 'others' must come from within?
