The main crisis facing the Ganga is the dumping of waste and the lack of water that only compounds the pollution problem. This particular problem is worse in the summer months and this year it has been particularly bad with an extremely depleted river. Many believe the water of the Ganga have special qualities that allow her to regenerate, a belief that was held by even the Mughals and the British. But if we leave no water in the river, then are we not simply destroying our life source?
