Tonight on The Buck Stops Here:
India's new VVIP village
The Prime Minister adopts a village under one of his pet projects, the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojna, aimed at transforming nearly 2,400 villages into model villages in the next 5 years. But the big question is this: as he visits his constituency Varanasi, his first visit there since winning the elections, why did he have to pick a village which has already been adopted by the RSS since 2002, and more importantly, what about the lakhs of villages which don't end up being converted?
India's naval disasters
In yet another accident in the Navy, a small torpedo recovery vessel sank near Visakhapatnam yesterday. Four sailors including an officer are still missing. A massive search for these men continues. In the Navy, there are accidents after accidents; we have seen a serving chief resign. But the question remains, is there a systemic failure which is resulting in so many accidents and is it too simplistic to put the blame on one person?
