The R-factor, the indicator of the speed at which the coronavirus infection is spreading in the country, is climbing steadily and fuelling concerns about the pandemic rearing its head again. The rising R-factor in some states has prompted the Centre to sound caution that the "pandemic is still raging". The government's sole focus of countering the pandemic is dependent on the vaccination drive.
