India, apart from Israel, is the only country in the world ensconced in a volatile neighbourhood, surrounded by some hostile neighbours with whom India has fought three wars in its 66-years of existence. Due to its strategical limitations, some of the neighbouring countries have tried to hem in India with ingenious forms of conflict so that India remains bogged down within the confines of South Asia and never rises up to play an important role in the geo-strategic affairs of the world.

Did India fail to gauge these threats during the early years of its independence? Did it conduct its diplomacy accordingly or was India's foreign policy dictated by high and lofty ideals of non-alignment movement? Did our strategic and military preparations take a hit due to India's idealistic analysis of geo-strategic relations?

Join us for a special edition of The Big Fight with former Minister for External Affairs Jaswant Singh, Historian Dr Radha Kumar, Dr Sanjaya baru, Former Media Advisor to PM, Dr Manmohan Singh, Randeep Singh Surjewala, cabinet Minister in the Haryana government, D Raja, National Secretary, CPI, Anil Jagia, Retired Chief Flight Engineer of Flight IC 814, which was hijacked and former diplomat Vivek Katju.
