Earlier this week when Defense Minister Rajnath Singh did Shastra Pooja at a forward post along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) on Dussehra in the Tawang sector, it was seen as a bold move. Last year, the Tawang sector saw a massive stand-off between the Indian and the Chinese armies. Since then, India has strengthened its presence along the LAC and focused on confidence-building measures with civilians. The Legend of the Chumi Gyatse, a place famous for 108 holy waterfalls along the LAC, is being promoted as a tourist destination. Before the stand-off with China last year, India wanted to build an observation post overlooking the area. NDTV's Ratnadip Choudhury reports.
