Indian contemporary art: Where is it heading?
A recent art exhibition in Kolkata showcases names of big contemporary artists, who are giving India and the world a glimpse of what Indian art will be like in the decades ahead. This is not only thanks to the artists' upbringing - some of them are Indian but have been born and brought up abroad, but also thanks to a change in vision, whereby artists are moving away from the 'exotic' paintings that used to categorize Indian art. While this may not change immediately, these artists are sure Indian art is headed for new and exciting times in the decades ahead.
