Indian-Origin Children's Bookshop Wins Big At British Book Awards
India-origin Sanchita Basu De Sarkar, owner of The Children’s Bookshop, bagged the Children’s Bookseller of the Year and Best Book Retailer of the Year at the prestigious British Book Awards earlier this month. First opened in 1974, the double wins marked a great milestone in the independent bookshop’s history on its 50th anniversary year. Speaking to NDTV's Dishha Bagchi, she discusses the crucial need for bookshops in society and how her heritage influences what she reads and shares in her bookshop.
