Indian student Nilam Shinde from Maharashtra's Satara district is fighting for her life in a hospital in California after suffering critical injuries in a road accident. The 35-year-old, a fourth-year student at California State University, was out for an evening walk on February 14 when a car hit her from behind. It was a hit-and-run case, leaving her with severe injuries to her arms, legs, head, and chest. Nilam was rushed to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, where she remains in the intensive care unit. Her family says she slipped into a coma after a blow to the chest, and doctors now need permission from her blood relatives to perform a crucial brain surgery. As per NDTV's sources...
