It was in 1993 when India and Iran signed MoU on transferring of Gas from Iran. But it took another eight years, in 2001, when Teheran agreed to finally commission feasibility studies on the transportation of gas from the Assuliyeh fields in southern Iran.Indo-Pakistan-Iran pipeline would be about 1,600 kilometer long, and it was decided that India would receive 3.2 billion cubic feet of gas per day while Pakistan would to get 2.1 billion cubic feet of gas per day.
