IPR policy to protect Kerala's traditions

People of Kerala will soon be able to protect their traditional knowledge as per the new Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) policy. Apart from safeguarding the traditional knowledge - Ayurveda, the policy also promises to check the exploitation and misappropriation of traditional knowledge and inventions possessed predominantly by people of tribal and other communities.
