In Pakistan, there is political uncertainty and chaos and many wonder whether the army is trying its best to subvert democracy and install a proxy caretaker govt. The players in this plot: a cleric who, in Anna Hazare style, is demanding the immediate resignation of the government on some pretext or the other; a judiciary that wants the PM to be arrested and a democratically elected; a government that’s holding its ground, saying the days of interim set ups decided by the army and the courts are long gone.
