Is Indian Covid Variant More Transmissible Than The UK One?
Cases of the Indian variant of the virus have triggered concerns in the United Kingdom. Professor Chris Whitty, England's chief medical officer, has said the variant, B1617.2, could be more transmissible than Britain's currently dominant Kent strain, B117. Scientists on the SAGE Government advisory panel said: "Early indications are that this variant may be more transmissible than the B.1.1.7 [Kent] variant."
