Israel-Hamas Hostage Swap: Push For Extended Ceasefire
The fragile four-day ceasefire for hostage release agreement between Israel and Hamas is set to end today. Forty Israeli hostages have been released by Hamas - 13 on Friday, 13 on Saturday and 14 on Sunday. Some of them are dual nationals, including 4-year-old Abigail Edan - an US-Israeli citizen. Hamas also released 18 foreign nationals as part of separate negotiations. Of the Palestinian prisoners released, 117 are women and children. Thirty-nine each were released on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Can and will this truce be extended? What are the diplomatic channels that are currently at work?
