Israel hit a mosque in Gaza early on Monday, Oct. 9, amid escalating tension and violence between Palestinian and Israeli groups. Footage shows ruins of the destroyed al-Garbi Mosque located in the al-Shati Refugee Camp in the blockaded Gaza Strip. While the mosque was destroyed in the attack, many surrounding buildings and cars in streets were also damaged. On Sunday, Israel also hit the al-Amin Muhammad Mosque in Gaza City. Conflict between Palestinian groups in Gaza and Israel continues to escalate. On Saturday, Hamas launched its biggest attack on Israel in decades, firing thousands of rockets and sending fighters who infiltrated Israeli towns near the Gaza Strip. The group said its attack was in response to Israeli violations in the flashpoint Al-Aqsa Mosque complex in occupied East Jerusalem and increased settler violence.
