IT returns under special scrutiny
The income tax department might not have all their numbers right on high value transactions reported by individuals but in quite a few cases the department seems to have hit a bulls eye. Almost two lakh IT returns have been picked up through computer-assisted selection for scrutiny by the taxman for detailed investigation and these are figures just till the month of May.
