J&K Govt Launches Digital Tree Aadhaar To Conserve Chinar Trees
The Jammu and Kashmir government has launched a "Digital Tree Aadhaar" program to conserve the iconic Chinar trees, a symbol of the region's cultural and ecological heritage. The initiative includes geo-tagging each tree with QR codes to record vital information, such as location, health, and growth patterns. Using advanced technology like GIS, the project aims to protect the Chinar trees from threats like urbanization, deforestation, and habitat degradation.
