With elections right round the corner in Jammu and Kashmir on November 17, conditions for the polling staff there seem to be none the better. For instance, it took Abdul Majid 5 long hours to get to Sonawari, where he's on poll duty for the first phase of poling on Monday. The roads were cut off, and when Majid finally reached his destination, he had to spend the chilly night in a government school with little to beat the cold.
