Day one of the newly-formed PDP-BJP government in Jammu and Kashmir began with a controversy, when Chief Minister Mufti Sayeed credited people from across the border for enabling conducive environment for elections. Speaking to NDTV, Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh was measured in his response, saying while it was for PDP to explain why Mr Sayeed made such a statement, media was blowing a few words out of proportion. This is time to focus on governance, he said, and bridging the Jammu and Kashmir divide.
