Political Battle Over Javed Akhtar's Remarks
The Shiv Sena has come to the defence of the RSS after poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar's comments in which he compared RSS to Taliban. Javed Akhtar was "completely wrong" in comparing the two, the Sena declared in an editorial in Saamana. A political battle has erupted after Mr Akhtar's interview to NDTV where he drew parallels between the RSS and the Taliban. The Congress has chosen to back Mr Akhtar. Earlier, the BJP threatened to block Javed Akhtar's films.
