Javed Akhtar To NDTV On Morality: "Madhuri-Sridevi Didn't Get As Strong Roles As Meena Kumari..."
In a conversation with NDTV's Marya Shakil and Nikunj Garg, Javed Akhtar said how the changing image of a hero impacted the story-telling on the big screen. He said, "A hero is a personification of contemporary times' aspirations and morality." Javed Akhtar explained, at one point of time people were not sure about the morality and it was reflected in story-telling. He said, "Madhuri Dixit and Sridevi didn't get as powerful roles as Meena Kumari or Nargis did."
