The Godfather of Indian Jazz, Louis Banks, known for the iconic Mile Sur Mera Tumhara, returned to Kolkata's iconic Park Street, where he performed in the 1970s. During those days, Banks used to perform at Hotel Hindustan and Blue Fox. Born in Darjeeling and now based in Mumbai, Louis Banks spoke exclusively to NDTV at the Art Meets Jazz with Louis Banks event, part of the Bengal Biennale, currently taking place in Kolkata and Santiniketan. Interestingly, apart from being a music legend, Louis Banks is also an accomplished artist. Among the audience cheering him on was music icon Usha Uthup.
