Jharkhand Girl Set On Fire For Rejecting Marriage Proposal | Read
A girl was set on fire in Dumka district of Jharkhand for turning down a marriage proposal. According to reports, the accused and the victim knew each other. The accused wanted to marry the victim but her family members denied. Agitated over refusal, the accused broke into victim's house and set her on fire. The victim has been referred to RIMS hospital Ranchi. The administration provided financial assistance of Rs 1 Lakh fir the victim's treatment. The accused have been arrested. "She has been referred to Ranchi. The boy was known to the girl. The accused is already married and wanted to marry the victim. The parents of the girl were not ready for the marriage. Further Probe is on," said Dumka DSP Shivender.
