Jharkhand lynching: Five arrests, few answers
Two days after the lynching of two people in Jharkhand's Latehar district, there are more questions than answers. At least one of those arrested has links with a cow protection group. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Raghubar Das reacted to the incident by saying the state's laws do not permit taking cattle out of Jharkhand, hinting at a cattle smuggling angle, a claim so far not backed by any evidence on the ground.

If there was one predominant and recurrent theme at the BJP's two-day national executive meet, it was this: Co-existence of free speech and nationalism. Dissent is welcome but destruction of the country cannot be tolerated and there cannot be a debate on slogans like 'Bharat Mata ki Jai'. Is the issue of nationalism and the debate on nationalists vs anti-nationals going to be the centerpiece of the BJP's campaign in the upcoming assembly elections?
