Jharkhand's experiments with 'Aadhar'
The UPA government is set to launch Aadhar card based cash transfers in 51 districts of the country from January 1, 2013. This means that benefits under 29 welfare schemes like old age pension and MNREGA will be transferred through Aadhar card enabled bank accounts. But will this scheme work on the ground? We visited two blocks in Jharkhand where a pilot project is on for over a year now and came back with mixed reviews.
