Jobs And Drugs Eclipse Nationalism In Punjab
As issue of nationalism and valour of defence forces has taken the centrestage in the elections, the border state of Punjab seems to have other concerns. Most of the respondents interacting during a train journey urged the government to create jobs and control drug abuse which has spoilt the younger generation. Youngsters demand jobs, rising unemployment leading to migration, the state government failed in creating jobs and checking drug abuse, pollution has been the most neglected issue and the polls are devoid of issue based campaigning.
