Junior Health Minister Defends Controversial Surrogacy Bill
On Agenda - Anupriya Patel, PM Narendra Modi's youngest minister and the Minister of State for Health defends her government's draft surrogacy bill. The controversial bill aims to ban commercial surrogacy in India and bars foreigners, singles, live-in and same-sex couples from commissioning surrogacy in India and has come under fire from a host of rights activists. Ms Patel however sticks to her stand, saying, 'surrogacy is a menace that exploits women'.
