Chief Justice DY Chandrachud has officially proposed Justice Sanjiv Khanna as his successor, marking a significant transition in the Indian judiciary. Justice Khanna, the second-most senior judge of the Supreme Court, is set to become the 51st Chief Justice of India, pending government approval. He will serve a six-month term, concluding in May 2025.
