After Hurricane Helene ravaged roughly six states in the US, killing over 100, the disaster has now become an election issue with both campaigns exchanging barbs. Vice President Kamala Harris has cancelled campaign events and is expected to return to Washington for a briefing on the federal response to the Hurricane. Former president Donald Trump, meanwhile, is scheduled to visit Georgia's communities that are heavily impacted by the hurricane. He has stoked controversy over his remarks to victims, saying "You'll be okay".
