After spending 22 days in jail, JNU student leader Kanhaiya Kumar was granted bail today. The bail order talks about "infection", "antibiotics" and "surgery", and says that it should be ensured that Kanhaiya's "thoughts and energy are channelised in a constructive manner". Kanhaiya's lawyers say his bail is the first step to vindication. The BJP says, read the bail order, it vindicates us. How should we read this order? And what about the JNU tapes, two of which a forensic lab has now said are doctored? Has doctored evidence been used to build a case against Kanhaiya? We debate.
